Train Crashed by Robbers: Bandits Wreck wrong train in $1,000,000 hold-up. in a daring attempt to wreck and rob a mail train carrying more than $1,000,000 train robbers are supposed to have wrecked this “Boston beef” train near rocklawn. Mass. by mistake. A rail was found disconnected. The locomotive toppled down a 20 foot embankment and eight cars were derailed.

Before reading Wikipedia, I thought Great Train Robbery as an American event. Now I know it happened in U.K and the locomotive was no: D326, use in London travelling post office (TPO) train.
Now out here, we have regular newspaper reports of passengers robbed at knifepoint and the like. And looking back, up on the central plains of Chambal we have the famous bandit queen. … did she do any train robbery and those stuff…
Coming to Indian big train robbery scene, we all bank on the vivid images of Bollywood movies in 70’s and early 80’s. Haven’t u seen our double barrel gun slinging dacoits in horses, galloping next to the fast moving steam trains… Yes, they are our desi Robin hoods, in some way….
