Merry Xmas everyone

Merry Xmas everyone. I’m glad to be home this Xmas. and enjoy the cocktail of local flavours & colors of life. It’s nice to rekindle those little moments that I come to associate with Christmas.

Yesterday, I attended the midnight Xmas mass. It was a dull sermon and I felt totally disconnected with the discourse from the Priest. He had addrssed with a written script and lacked any personal take home message to anyone.

Today for Xmas, I’m going errands around and helping my lady prepare today’s lunch and dinner. I’ll post more Xmas pics and view from my home…

Till then,

Friday casuals

Friday casuals at work

Come Friday, many folks sport a welcoming smile and equally sporty attire. While it’s not religiously followed in our pad, it does to many working in the official kingdom. For many around here, everything goes at any day. That takes me to this question. Does the outfit you drape makes any real difference in your internal and external representation?

Dil Hoom Hoom Kare -Rudali ( song of the day )

Today afternoon during the holy hour(3:00), when sleep
gets to my head,I played this song, Dil Hoom Hoom Kare
-Rudali.In low volume, the melodious voice of Lata
Mangeshkar filled the bay. Soon I got messages from
colleagues to pep up the vol and to share this song.

I repeatedly listened it without knowing the meaning
and I enjoyed its soothing effects. Being inquisitive
about the meaning, I clicked on the information highway
to get the translation of this song.Found it right away
and the meaning sounded very romantic.

I haven't seen Rudali but going by the popularity, I've
to keep it on my must see movie list.

Dil Hoom Hoom Kare -Rudali

Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye
My heart is gasping, it shivers in fear
Ghan dham dham kare, darr jaaye
The clouds are thundering, my heart becomes afraid
Ek boond kabhi paani ki mori ankhiyon se barsaaye
A drop of water sometimes flows from my eyes
Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye
My heart is gasping, it shivers in fear

Teri jhori daaroon, sab sukhe paat jo aaye
When I spread (open) your bag, all the dry leaves come
Tera chhua laage, meri sukhi daar hariyaaye
When you touch me, my dry branch (body) becomes green
Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye
My heart is gasping, it shivers in fear

Jis tan ko chhua tune, us tan ko chhupaaoon
The body that you touched, I am hiding that body
Jis man ko laage naina, voh kisko dikhaaoon
The mind that you saw with your eyes, who do I show that to?
O more chandrama, teri chaandni ang jalaaye
Oh my moon, your moonlight burns my body
Teri oonchi ataari maine pankh liye katwaaye
You are up on a high balcony; I have cut off my wings
Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye
My heart is gasping, it shivers in fear
Ghan dham dham kare, darr jaaye
The clouds are thundering, my heart becomes afraid
Ek boond kabhi paani ki mori ankhiyon se barsaaye
A drop of water sometimes flows from my eyes
Dil hoom hoom kare, ghabraaye
My heart is gasping, it shivers in fear

Recession fever in Bangalore

Bangalore and recession

Recession a fancy term that happened to U S of A has turned it’s bitter face to Indian shores. Every day in the newspaper headlines of pink slips from companies far and wide. From the big giants to the small biz, this virus is fast crippling biz results in Bangalore. No doubt that the outsourcing capital, “Bangalore” is badly struck with the gloomy weather of recession.

I came to read news of recession some 8-9 months back and at that time I just fancied that it will never hurt our biz. But now all those dreaded illusions has come to our backyard.

Recession in Bangalore

From my keen observation in the life around Bangalore I’ve seen define change in the buzzling malls. Yes, more than shopping malls the recession bug had hit in a big way at the reality Industry.

But recession is not all that bad news to me. Often I have cribbed about the rising apartment rates and rental charges in Bangalore. And now I find some solace in the news that reality sector is hit and I’m glad that I’m not a property dealer. This credit crunch has put on brakes on the spiraling reality prices which Bangalore has witness over the past 5 years. A good pause of growth is fine for a any sector and to put slight brakes on rising greed in our citizens.

Along with the stalled prices of real estate I would like to see lower rates for rent. This is something which is yet to come in a big way. Even now these shady brokers insist that apartment rates are still on the highs. A two bedroom house in Koramangala still fetches across 10K and even a single bedroom dingy houses owners expect a good 6 or 7 K.

Another visible sign of recession in Bangalore is lower attendance in the new age coffee joints. Thin crowds of cuppochino cowboys and girls is another index to go by about the lower spending from these yuppie crowd.

Opportunity does exist in recession:

All is not lost for companies that work to serve for global economies. Recession is a good time for more small business to provide vital biz saving services at a lower cost. It’s also time for Indian business to look closely at customer’s satisfaction as a key matrices to jingle their cash registers.

Jump start your day

Good day my friends, start with a good workout and so goes my aging philosophy. Today after a long break, I got up early and drove into the chill December weather of Bangalore.

While I reached my favorite park at CMH road, I took no time to plug in my digital player. I started my walk with the song “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, from my cute Creative MP3 player( Zen Stone). One time it was my dream to carry a tiny digital device and walk with the music and now I’m living that little big dream.

Dreams do surpass our wish list and that cycle goes on till we turn to nothingness.

Coming back to my time well spend in the park, the first thing I figure out is to spot the regulars. Today the crowd was thin; probably the chill weather has glued them inisde their cozy blankets. Most of the regulars bore their usual boring expression and I joined in the same group. As I moved with my beer belly, I was further disappointed with the less number of fairer sex in this green park. Well, it is the presence of live wires in park that peps my saggy walking rhythm to a livelier beat.

In the end of my 45 mts walk, I was feeling far better, far confident to take on the day. As I rode my way back home, I resolved for the umpteenth time to carry this routine to kick start a great morning and hopefully step on to a great day at work.

Let me end the post with a quote “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer”.
