Common Space to Donate

I though of this post after this episode – the helper who comes to our house in Trivandrum, placed two jackfruits outside our gate. We didn’t want the jackfruit, so wanted to dispose it. And he thought it would be good idea to keep it outside by the road side so that some one might pick it.

Well, there are many things we dispose or would like to donate. But, most often we don’t have an immediate solution. Just imagine that in each town, locality, or panchayat there a space to keep donate stuff, old stuffs, so that it would reach the needy.

Things you can give for free in a place like Kerala, could be- coconuts, seasonal crops, jackfruits, clothes, old furniture, books, etc.

But, someone has to coordinate.

If you have time and good intention, then you can initiate it. Probably, it could be easier if you assemble likeminded people from your school, college or locality. Give the project a name and there you go.

It’s ideal if you can start a Facebook community page. Provide details, like phone number, etc. Besides, such non-profit activity will be good for your resume. You can boldly talk to interviewers on how you failed or succeed in your effort and the lessons learned. Also, how digital marketing helped you to connect.

If it works, it’s chance to spreads happiness, positive feeling, and goodness. And, only you can do it!
