Kumarapuram Bus Stop Shelter – Open Roof

1. Have you seen the roofless bus shelter at Kumarapuram junction?
2. Did you have any questions, like, Who maintains it? Why there are no  repairs?
3. Did you think of taking it forward?

From a sleepy junction, now Kumarapuram junction is a bustling locality with traffic, people and shops.

It became popular with Maldivians as they are many hospitals in close vicinity. Besides, Technopark staff pass through Kumarapuram junction to reach bypass and then to Technopark. People going to KIMS  hospital pass through this junction to reach this hospital.

Despite the importance of Kumarapuram, the bus shelter is in a bad state. If the govt can’t do it, why can’t the private offices or even people of this locality.

I feel, hospital like Lords, or KIMS, or even hugely successful diagnostic centre like Devi Scans, or hotels like  Biverah, or Adrek, or any doctor or doctors with good practice, or NRI’s can take the task of rebuilding this bus shelter.

Even a group of techies from Technopark or from a near by MBA institute can take it forward as a project. Plan, get sponsor, and execute it.

What’s it for you/or them?

• When you maintain this stop,people will notice  you
• Even a small board saying ( Maintained by ….) will  give you brand value
• People will thank you for it
• Doing voluntary work is good for your resume.

Create one more Job  – At important bus stops
While writing this, I got this epiphany. Why not employ a person at the bus stop to answer many questions. This person will be like a ‘Help Post’. The person will act as a guide, help or try to give best answers‘. May I Help You! 

Well, people waiting or reaching this bus stop will have questions like:

• When is the next bus to Technopark?
• Did this particular bus leave?
• Which is the best hotel to have food here?
• Will I get homemade food in this locality?
• Is there any job(s) available in this neighbourhood?
• Which lodge do you recommend?
• Which scanning centre offers the best rates?
• Who is the best doctor for …..?
• Any free lodging facility for cancer patients?
• Where is the closest photocopy, Internet centre?
• I’m hungry… Where can I get free food?
• Where can I pledge my jewels?
• How to get a rented house in this locality?
• Where can I get North Indian food?
• How much does it cost me to take auto from here to Eastfort?
• Is there a English Medium school in this locality?
