Salary in Bangalore

Close to the heals of the blog titled, Salary in Kerala, I’ve started this blog, with the intention to collate the different salary structure in blue collar as well as while collar jobs in Bangalore.

The idea of bringing all this together is give me or people like me, some ideas on the salary prevailing in various jobs in Bangalore. As a metro, we would be imagining the kind of pay earned by different people. Let’s see how far your gut feeling about the salary is true.

Salary of security staff in a private apartment

Rs 6,500 for a month. Agency takes a cut, and this amount or maybe a bit higher is paid for freshers. I’ve asked security guys in the company where I used to work. They used to get Rs 8k. A very bad pay, considering the fact that they sometimes have to streach day and night.

Monthly wages for a vessel cleaner in a typical Andhra restaurant in Domlur side

This I got from my maid. She said that her sister who is working in a hotel, earns around Rs 6,500 per month. Her job – clean big vessels, aluminum curry containers. These are heavy vessels and I was thinking of this puny lady, who has to move or lift these vessels.

I also recollect the scene I saw in a restaurnt in Ameerpet, Hyderabad. It was typical Santhi Sagar kind of hotel, serving vegetarian dishes. It was noon time, and there were many customers who were going in and out. In this mele, I was looking for a loo. I couldn’t find one. Then I saw one door and I pushed it ajar. Inside, was a dimly lit room where I found it difficult to focus. An impoverished lady was sitting in this wet place, and there were hundreds of vessels around her. What a sad job? I closed it quickly knowing that I made a mistake, but it opened to the work people do behind the scenes.

Job Salary in Kerala

For a long time, I had this idea on the back of my mind. It has sprouted as a result of me imagining of salary of people I come across in my life. Well, I’m not concerned about people who draw 5 figure salary, but the average worker, the blue collar kind.

Only way I can accumulate a list like this is by asking people about how much it pays in their job. Though it sounds simple, it may not be an easy task to collect and build on it. As the saying goes, 1000 mile Journey starts starts with a first step, so is my effort to build a repository which could be helpful for me, or for you.

The figures given here are approximate. So, which calculating it will be plus or minus some amount.

Puncher Shops in Domlur

Puncher Works

My old Kinetic Honda again suffered a puncher. At first I went to one puncher guy who has a work station inside Indian Oil petrol pump, Domlur. He said some excuse and asked to go to the shop near Domlur Santhi Sagar. After filling my drained out tube, I rushed to this place. The guy after examining my tube said, that the tube has to be replaced.

It costed me Rs 240 for tube and 40 for fitting charges. Plus, Rs 10, tip for the guy. .

Puncher Shop App

I don’t know if such an mobile application exit or it’s still in the blueprint. Anyways, a mobile app which can instantly locate puncher shops close to your location would be a great help to motorist and car owners who are stuck with a flat tyre. Also, it can include other utilities like browsing centre, hospital for first aid, petrol pumbs, pubs, spas, even locate people who can volunteer to be a chai buddy.

What about another Chai version of Tinder?

While Tinder is the one of the fast growing dating app, there are limitations to this app. Probably, I would like an app which I can use to request for a chai date. Ys, it could have options such as find the chai maters in 100 mtrs, or beer mates across the street.

I’m sure these app will soon walk this mobile ecospace.

Jimi’s Pub

For almost a decade, I have lived my life in a street close to 12th Main, Indira Nagar. At one time, it used to be a sleepy place, lined up with simple residential houses. As the property prices spiraled up and the value of Indira Nagar in terms of square feet rate zoomed, many of the houses were demolished and made way to these glass building.

Connect Feel Life

Open to Nature

Today, when I started to write a blog, my mind raced to the life of thousands of so called professionals working in different companies in Bangalore. What could be their typical day in their life? Well, most of them have to start early from home, probably without having a relaxed or satisfied breakfast. Next, it’s a race to reach the workplace through the traffic, either in their vehicle or in the office cab. And then, sit in that chair all day long doing what has been told to them.

While there are many who would be enjoying the work, there are equally more number of people who are working only for pay, surrendering their soul and time for money. Well, I’m one that belonged to that tribe, but not anymore.

Well, what else can you do to earn money, yet start enjoying the little pleasures of the day? I don’t have a answer. Probably, each one should venture or think about an answer.

Charles

Vacant Seats for Engineering Courses

Slack in Demand for Engineering and MBA

Well, we all knew that this was coming. At one time, Malayalees and people across South and North of India was driven by one thing – Engineering, Medicine, or MBA.

But, all those dreams are just fading just right in front of their  eyes. I bet that’s good news for me. The excessive greed of the educational institutions, of the parents, are coming to zero.

Good News – Bad News

Good news for students is that students don’t have the pressure to join enginnering colleges after paying hefty capitation fees. Bad news that these colleges will loose the  revenue, teachers will become unemployed, and those who paid money for their job has to pay a big price.

Education is Free now

If you’re a student or a teacher or a college administrator, one thing you need to learn is that education is becoming cheaper by the day. There’s no need to fear about your future. If you’re determined to learn anything, there are thousands of resources available on the Internet. All you have to do is to find the right source and start learning brick by brick.

Finest Tatte Idly and Chutney in Domlur

Sri Vishnu Refreshment

Large Idlies – Called Thatte Idly

There’s a reason why I fell in love with this large idlies. Reason is the chutney. The chutney is made of rich coconut and it’s moderately spicy. Somehow, it tastes like the nadan chutney we get in small restaurants in Kerala.

If you’re in Domlur and are too lazy to make breakfast, then this could be a place you can try. It’s located inside the lane which is opposite to Indian Oil Petrol pump.

Price of one idly is Rs 18/ and no home delivery.

Have a Idly and start a great day!

Who is Funding Kerala?

Overseas remittance

We keralites should thank our Mamas, Pappas, Uncles, Aunts, Brothers, Sisters for funding our growth and sustenance. Often I used to wonder how we as state would fare, had we not have this remittances.

Imagine the crores of money getting deposited in our NRI accounts, and also the havala transaction, which contributes to our economy. This kind of remittance didn’t start overnight. Probably, it might have started in early 50’s, 60’s or 70’s when Malayalees started to explore region like Singapore, Ceylon, and Middle East region.

Though Gulf region is not that lucrative as before, still a significant portion of remittance is from those region. Somehow, we have learned to adjust with the new realities and compensation packages of these places.

How long will this last…

It’s time we Keralities look for small business option from our native place, rather than working as slaves and second class citizens in other countries. While, it’s easy to say this, it calls for planning and understanding of what could be done in our state.

The answer would be different for each person. A person with specialized skills may find employment easily, or a person who understand Internet Marketing, could utilize different digital channels to promote a knowledge transfer business model.

In one of the earlier business idea blog, I have listed around thirty business ideas. I hope, you might find something useful from the SMB ideas listed there.
