I’m in love with this business ( Door to Door Organics), their business philosophy, also their marketing program. It’s a good example of how a biz can organically grow their customer base by tapping customer conversation on social media ( Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).
I stumbled on this business after reading a case study on Marketingsherpa and a informative blog post by Daniel Burstein. ( Read to know their social success story)
Question is How Can you Emulate from the Success of this Organic estore?
Before that, let’s try to know if there’s an exclusive organic estore in Bangalore or in Cochin, or in Trivandrum? . In Trivandrum, there’s a shop called Welgate at Kuravankoram. This shop sells a wide range of organic produce like vegetables, fruits, and other produce like honey, spices, etc. Long back, a Yoga centre used to conduct a farmers market. Now, I don’t see it happening.

How to start one from the grassroots? Well, I bet there are many people who like to leave their typical 9 to 5 job and start something on this green front. So, if like minded people can come together, then a collective organic farm could be started in the outskirts of B’lore. Or, if you don’t want to partner with anyone, then start an experimental farm and then slowly expand it progresses.

Before you jump start on such a plan, it’s essential to study the market place, the size, number, reach, etc. More important factor of these store are the trust factor. People are curious to know if this establishment is really having green values. For this, you require a PR plan to get the message out to the right audience. P.S – This post was written in 2017. However in 2108, it was unfortunate to know that Door to Door Organics had closed it’s business. Still, this venture is a proof of good marketing and business sense worked together in making a difference it made to the community and its customers.
