In one of the links I clicked after searching ” things to see near Mangalore Railway station” was the links which carried all things from churches, temples, shopping places, etc. I wish there was a selection by “religious institutions”, “shops’, pubs, restaurants, sightseeing, historical places, etc.
Moreover, I felt all the top searches for ” things to see near Mangalore Station” is more fluff that of real value. The links from travel companies were there, as they just has to get that sweet spot. In simple words, all these search results were not of much use to me. It didn’t fit my needs which are more personal to my tastes. Such as I might me looking for experiences which I can get under Rs 400 or for free.
I would be more interested in places where they serve tasty Mangalore fish curry meals, either a restaurant or home food joint.
Based on this I categorize the things to do into 3 categories – restaurants, fun activities, buildings.
Restaurants near MG Road
1. Tandoor – An expensive place but serves good tandoor stuff. When I visited, there were many foreigners – probably those who were staying in Taj Vivanta or Oberoi, which are just on the opposite side of this restaurant.
2. Chianty
3. Koshy’s – Enjoy the old time feel of Bangalore in this famed restaurant. From pork spare ribs to Liver on Toast, or a chill beer or chai, there’s something in the menu for everyone.
4. Tibetian Plaza – Food at affordable price – Chinese food at budget price
Pubs and Bars
1. Pecos – Old time vibe in this pub which is touted as one of the first pubs in Bangalore
