Visit to Blossoms Used Book Store 2020

I guess it’s been sometime since I visited this old books store called Blossoms at Church Street in Bangalore. It was earlier running in another building on the same road, a little .further. My old habit was to hang around Brigade Road on weekends – have a beer or so and then visit all the little shops in the area.

Now that routine of going out is replaced by more sedentary acts. These days weekends are at home – just sitting in front of the screen, posting on Facebook Pages or doing odd jobs of buying stuffs for home.

I have always been a sucker for old books and book stores. In Trivandrum, I used to visit the second hand book shops which was near University College. Later these guys shifted to a spot near Public Library. And during that time, I moved out to Bangalore and lost that habit. The guys who runs the used book store in Trivandrum forgot my face. Probably, some other customer’s picture must be in there. Whatever, I miss the days in Trivandrum when I used to come home with some old copies of National Geographic or some books which I bought on a deal.

Are you the type who likes to read books?
Do you like old books stores to brand new stores?
Which type of books do you buy from these stores?

When I shared the pic of Blossoms in one of the Whatsapp Group, one guy reminded me to buy Amar Chitra Khata books by PiCO.

Books from Blossoms
1. Ikigai ( to be read soon and gifted)
2. Hygee
3. Checklist Manifesto

When was the last time you gifted a book?

I wish I had someone to love me

I wish I had someone to love me,
Someone to call me their own,
Someone to stay with me al- ways,
I’m weary of being alone.
………

To all those who are alone in the world, battling their fears and feeling alone, with no one to tell their dreams. It could be single parent or someone who’s left to live life alone, fend for the children all by themselves, or just normal people who feel very isolated and those who don’t have anyone to tell their stories, journey and hope. Also, think of all those who retire to bed alone…

It saddens when these thought comes over. Well, we all go through such patches of life, which is inevitable. If you are in a happy relationship, you feel there’s someone at the end of the day to hear your tales, give you a nudge, a hug or serve you a happy meal, then you are one of the blessed ones.

Koshy’s Bangalore 2020 Visit

Quick meet with Suja at Koshy’s. It’s been a long time since I had a beer from this place. And for the first time shook hands with Prem Koshy. Thanks to Suja, who sparked a short conversation with him and following which he came to the table to see why she was still sitting with her biryani.

Koshy’s – What it means to you and them?

What are your moments and memories in this restaurant?
What do you order or drink the most from Koshy’s?
