These days, almost all personal news are broken, shared on Whatsapp. On one such day, was the day when I one of the buddies of the Coffee House Group messaged the passing of an old time coffee house chap Mr Issac. His untimely death was shocker to many who knew him.
He death adds to the list of people from the Coffee House comradeship who have left early – Justin, Ramesh Nair, Manu, and many others.
Though he was not very familiar to me, I went to attend his funeral at C.S.I. Christ Church Palayam. The funeral mass was attended by many of his friends, and relatives.
One of the touching part of the burial ceremony was the parting speech by his daughter. She sketched his life in a nutshell, her memories and moments with him, his shenanigans, and how Rambo as he was fondly called, will be remembered forever.
After her teary and well rendered parting words, I wandered aimlessly talking to few known faces. Meanwhile, I went around the old graves which was mostly from the British era. As I searched online, I found a well researched and written article ( Vintage charm ) about C.S.I. Christ Church and it’s history.
From the epitaph on a grave
Everyday in some small way
Memories of you come our way
Though absent, you are ever near
Still missed, loved and always near.
